Angela M. Butler, Psy.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Butler is a licensed clinical psychologist and has worked in private practice since 2005. Prior to founding Grace Assessment and Therapy Services, Dr. Butler worked at Psychological Health Associates in Winchester, VA. Dr. Butler’s expertise includes working with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety, Giftedness and Neurodivergence, and Sexual identity across the lifespan. Additionally, Dr. Butler has extensive post-doctoral training in the provision of Parental Coordination and Parental Reunification. She enjoys working with traditional as well as non-traditional and blended families. Dr. Butler worked in the Frederick County Public Schools before working exclusively in private practice. She has been an adjunct professor at Shenandoah University and James Madison University. Dr. Butler completed her pre-doctoral internship at James Madison University and an externship with Children’s National Medical Center. Dr. Butler is a credentialed Health Service Psychologist by The National Register. Rachel Spurrier, Psy.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Rachel Spurrier is a licensed clinical psychologist who administers comprehensive psychological evaluations to clarify client diagnosis as well as to provide recommendations for treatment. Dr. Spurrier has administered testing to clients with concerns related to depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, adjustment disorder, learning disabilities, ADHD, ASD, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and psychosis. Additionally, Dr. Spurrier works with children, adolescents, and adults in individual and family therapeutic sessions. Dr. Spurrier has experience in utilizing cognitive-behavioral strategies within a collaborative client-centered therapeutic framework. Clinical areas of focus include concerns with depression, low self-esteem, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, parent-child interaction, generalized anxiety, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and Autism Spectrum disorders (ASD). Clinical interests include the integration of mindfulness and acceptance, artistic expression, emotional identification, and social skills training when working with clients and their family members. |
Heidi Buckner, Ed.S., NCSP
Heidi Buckner is a Licensed School Psychologist with a wide variety of experience in cognitive assessment and treatment of children and adolescents. She received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Radford University in 1994, a Master of Science in School Psychology (M.S.) and an Education Specialist (Ed.S) in School Psychology from Radford University in 1997. She is an Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) with over twenty years of experience working as a school psychologist within the public school setting. During her years working within the public school system, she has gained experience working with students ranging in age from preschool to high school. She has extensive experience evaluating children and adolescents for special education services in the areas of Specific Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, Intellectual Disabilities, Emotional Disabilities, and Developmental Delays. She regularly consults with administrators, teachers, and parents to assist students in achieving their full potential. In addition, being a member of child study and eligibility teams for the duration of her career has enabled her to gain a thorough knowledge of special education law, including Section 504. |
